The interconnector between Norway and the Netherlands has been out of operation since a violent storm hit the Netherlands October 28th and damaged the converstation in Eemshaven.

The damage is now repaired and the cable will be back in operation and available to the electricity market from Friday 20th of December.

The storm destroyed significant components at the converter station in Eemshaven, owned by the Dutch Transmission System Operator TenneT. The repair works have been complicated and has taken time.

NorNed is owned by Statnett (50%) and TenneT (50%). The cable was commissioned in 2008 and has a capacity of 700 MW. It runs between Feda in Norway and Eemshaven in the Netherlands and therefore links the Norwegian price range NO2 to the Dutch electricity market.
