GE Oil & Gas has received contracts to supply gas compression trains for Dominion’s Cove Point Liquefaction Project in Lusby, Md. Adding liquefaction capabilities will transform the existing Cove Point liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal into the first LNG terminal capable of exporting LNG on the U.S. East Coast.

Indonesia: Donggi-Senoro LNG Project on Track

Construction work on the Donggi-Senoro LNG project in Central Sulawesi in Indonesia is ahead of schedule, PT Medco Energi Internasional said.

UAE: Launching Ceremony Held for FSRU Toscana

A launching ceremony was held on Tuesday at Drydocks World shipyard for the floating regasification terminal “FSRU Toscana” of OLT Offshore LNG Toscana. The terminal will reach Italy in the second quarter of 2013 and will be located 22 kilometres off the coast between Livorno and Pisa.

PTTEP, Partners Award Mozambique LNG FEED Contracts

PTTEP AI (a subsidiary of PTTEP) and its joint venture partners have awarded Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contracts for both onshore LNG (liquefied natural gas) construction and offshore installation for its newly acquired block “Rovuma Offshore Area 1” in Mozambique which contains the vast natural gas resources discovered currently estimated to hold between 35 and 65 plus trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas.

USA: DOE Approves Two LNG Export Applications

EOS LNG and Barca LNG have won an approval from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export LNG from a proposed floating liquefaction unit and storage tanker at the Port of Brownsville, Texas to nations with a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States.

Australia: Huge FLNG Project Planned by Exxon and BHP

Exxon Mobil and partner BHP Billiton are planning to develop the world’s biggest floating LNG project offshore Western Australia in the Scarborough field, according to a filing with Australia’s environment department.
