HiDef Aerial Surveying Ltd has appointed Steve Burns to the role of Technical Director.
Mr. Burns joined HiDef in March 2012, and takes his new post with immediate effect. In his new role, he will improve the effectiveness of technical processes at HiDef in addition to managing the development of new IP.
Since 2008, the company has been the leading supplier of aerial ornithology and marine mammal surveys to the UK offshore renewable industry and the UK’s Crown Estate.
On the appointment of Mr. Burns, Mark Robinson, HiDef’s Managing Director said: “Steve has made a significant contribution to the company over the past couple of years and, importantly developed our second generation of airborne camera technology which we now deploy. He has an excellent work ethic, a wealth of technical experience, and a calm and logical approach.”
Mr. Burns is a qualified Avionics Systems Engineer, who formerly spent 22 years within the Royal Navy. Latterly in his naval career he managed instructors ensuring successful delivery of technical training within the Air Engineering School.
