Alfa Laval, a company specialized in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has won an order from the Korean company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for a freshwater generator module to an offshore oil platform in the North Sea.

The order, booked in the Energy & Environment segment early January, has a value of approximately SEK 110 million. Delivery is scheduled for 2014. The Alfa Laval equipment will be installed onboard the platform where it will convert seawater into both potable and process water.

“This is another large order from the oil and gas industry which confirms the continued positive development we see in the sector. It also proves our strong position as a reliable supplier of equipment for these demanding applications,” says Lars Renström , President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.
