Seajacks could expand its workforce from the current 260 to 450 in the next two years, the company’s CEO Blair Ainslie is cited by the EDP24 news site as saying.

Mr. Ainslie has forecasted this based on the growing offshore wind industry and the accompanying need for new people and vessels.

He said that the company has an option for the second offshore wind installation vessel designed the same as Scylla, which was ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in June last year and will be delivered in the second half of 2015.

However, Mr. Ainslie said that Seajacks will consider the acquisition of a new vessel when it sees political certainty regarding the EMR (Electricity Market Reform), along with stabile financial conditions.
