Seabed Geosolutions, a joint venture between Fugro and CGG, secured a major Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) contract with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd.
The contract with a value of approximately USD 70 million is for Temana and D18 fields in Malaysia.
The project will start at the end of the first quarter of 2014 and is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
Seabed Geosolutions secured a good backlog for 2014 with this contract, after 2013 seabed data acquisition using cables suffered from low utilization.
