Volstad Shipping AS signed a contract last year with Turkish shipyard Tersan regarding the building of a new Construction Vessel of Skipsteknisk design. The financing is now in place and the contract is in effect.

Although the construction of the Vessel will take place abroad, the contract will be of great value to many Norwegian suppliers. Approximately 50% of the contract value is related to Norwegian equipment and services.

The new Vessel is a completely new version of the ST-259 design. Its main dimensions are 128 x 25m. Through its designation “Arctic”, it is obvious that the Vessel is specially designed for operations in arctic waters, with significant ice class, ROV moonpools and de-icing. The vessel is further fitted with a 300t offshore crane, 120 pax accommodation and triple redundant propulsion systems.

Time of delivery is set to Q4/2015.
