Nature Group PLC announced a new three year contract for its Compact Treatment Units.

Nature has been contracted by Seadrill to support the processing of liquid waste generated on its drilling rigs offshore Brazil. Seadrill currently operates three rigs in Brazil, between which the units will be shared.

In addition to a “Compact Treatment Unit” for on-site waste water treatment, a “Sludge Treatment Unit” for drilling mud treatment will be included in the rental contract to enable zero hydrocarbon discharge criteria to be met. Dedicated units will be shipped to Brazil and are expected to commence operation at the end of the first quarter of 2014.

The contract covers the rental of Nature’s CTU and STU in combination with the associated operators and sets of environmentally friendly treatment chemicals. Nature’s technology will clean the waste water to meet the local discharge criteria, with a target for water to be discharged as low as <5ppm Oil in Water.

Nature’s CEO Stig Feyling said: “I am very pleased that after the successful projects with OceanRig in Brazil last year, we can extend our rental fleet through this new customer and contract. Our local agent, Alliance Ambiental, has been instrumental in obtaining the contract.”
