Rosmorport Dredging Plans Announced (Russia)

The scope of dredging operations of FSUE Rosmorport is expected to exceed 170 mln cbm in 2014-17. This was announced by Rosmorport Executive Director Andrei Lavrishchev at the International Forum of Dredging Companies organized by media-group PortNews.

Lavrishchev said that the volume of dredging operations is expected to be 31.1 mln cbm in 2014 and 140 mln cbm in 2015-17. Repair dredging is estimated at 8.2 mln cbm in 2014, 10.15 mln cbm in 2015 and 10.41 mln cbm in 2016.

As of today, FSUE Rosmorport owns 7 dredging vessels.

According to Rosmorport, there are 63 seaports in Russia today with over 870 transshipment complexes capable of handling over 876 mln t of cargo per year. In 2013, throughput of Russian ports hit 589 mln t.
