The British Columbia Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (MFLNRO) has awarded two investigative licences to Canadian SRM Projects.

Namely, SRM plans to develop several projects which will harness the tidal power.

The two mentioned projects are South Discovery Passage, located between the City of Campbell River and the south end of Quadra Island, and Seymour Narrows, an area north of the City of Campbell River and Menzies Bay.

The projects were already approved under the Transport Canada Navigable Waters Protection Program (NWPP) in July 2013.
