Statoil has received consent to undertake major modifications of the production facility at Heidrun in connection with Heidrun Low Pressure Production.

The consent applies to modifications to parts of the production facility at Heidrun and commissioning of this modified facility. The purpose of the modification is to reduce inlet pressure from a selection of wells, which will increase oil production from the wells.

Heidrun is at Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea, around 225 west of Brønnøysund. The field has been developed using a floating concrete tension leg facility placed over a template.

Production at Heidrun began in 1995.
