VisSim AS has signed an agreement to supply Marine Radar VTMS and Oil Spill Detection solutions for the oil production platform operating at the Ivar Aasen oil field in the North Sea.

The Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) gathers target data from radars and AIS, integrates this data and presents target data overlaid on electronic maritime charts.

The Oil Spill Detection module is based on raw video from commercial X-band radars, independent of the make. Preferable antenna size is 6ft or above.

Situated west of the Johan Sverdrup field in the North Sea, the oil field Ivar Aasen will be operated by Det norske oljeselskap ASA.

The surveillance solution is part of the integrated Electrification, instrumentation, control and telecommunication system supplied by Siemens.

The Marine Radar VTMS and Oil Spill Detection solutions will be integrated with the Statoil surveillance system monitored and controlled by the Sandsli Control Center in Bergen, Norway.
