NFDS Offshore 2 AS has entered into a shipbuilding contract to finalize a large anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) with NorYards Fosen AS.
The contract is conditional on the planned finalization of the asset transfer agreement between Bergen Group ASA and Calexco S.a.r.l.
The work will be performed at NorYards Fosen AS (Bergen Group Fosen AS). The hull will be delivered from Nantong Mingde Heavy Industries in China this summer, and is expected to arrive in Fosen in September 2014. The delivery from the yard is scheduled for 2Q 2015.
The newbuilding is a sister vessel to the AHTS currently under construction at the same yard at Fosen with planned delivery in 2Q 2014.
The vessel is of VS 491 CD AHTS design, with an overall length of 91m, breadth of 22m, a bollard pull of minimum 285t and with an integrated ROV hangar.
The vessel also comes with an upgraded ice class compared with its sister vessel.
NFDS Offshore 2 AS is a subsidiary of Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskap AS where BOA Offshore AS holds a major stake.
BOA Offshore AS will be manager and operator of the vessel.
