West Normandy Marine Energy (WNME) and the Regional Mission for Innovation and Economic Development Action (MIRIADE) have established the Marine Energy Research and Innovation Network in Lower Normandy (Basse-Normandie).

The two organizations announced this at the recently held Thetis MRE conference.

The new network consists of 21 Lower-Normandy organizations for research and innovation, which will strengthen relations between the industry (contractors and regional SMEs) and laboratories, in order to promote collaborative marine renewables projects.

The network will be working on 10 topics in four main areas of expertise:

– Implementation and environmental impact: knowledge and modeling – Materials: design, optimization, performance and durability, – Production and storage of energy: modeling and simulation, – Acceptability of marine renewable energy (MRE): analysis, modeling and regulation.
