Tide to Technology is an external science program that offers high school students an opportunity for hands-on learning with up-to-date ocean technologies and a chance to interact with local industry representatives.

The launch of Tide to Technology featured a first-hand look at an ROV and an ocean glider. Guest speakers included, Discovery Centre, Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education (LAE), Fisheries & Oceans Canada (DFO), The Ocean Technology Council of Nova Scotia (OTCNS), Ocean Sonics, and Vemco Ltd. and from academia, Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Centre of Geographic Sciences and the Ocean Tracking Network based at Dalhousie University.

Tide to Technology is set to visit various high schools throughout Nova Scotia this spring. The workshop will consist of several ocean technology stations including Geomatics, a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Acoustic Telemetry, Echolocation and much more.
