UK-based downhole video technology specialist EV has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, which recognises companies that have demonstrated growth in overseas business.

EV, the market leader in downhole video applications for the oil and gas industry, won for its accomplishments in international activity following continued global growth and expanding from a solely UK-based company three years ago to one that currently operates in 12 countries.

Francis Neill, EV chief executive, said: “We are deeply honoured to receive this award, as the Queen’s Awards are held in the highest esteem. This is a huge achievement for us, and we are delighted that our path of sustained growth and number of international bases has been recognised.

“The entire team at EV has worked extremely hard to get the company to where it is today and establish it as the market leader in downhole video technology. This award stands as testament to our dedicated work and we look forward to furthering our international presence in coming years.”

EV’s first international target was the Gulf of Mexico, which it entered in 2010. The company then went on to establish itself in Canada and the US before entering South East Asia, the Middle East and Australia. The company currently has 17 worldwide bases and has recently opened its doors in India and Indonesia, with Nigeria identified as a target in coming months.

Neill continued: “As our innovative technology is rapidly being adopted around the globe, we look forward to furthering our presence in established markets as well as entering new ones to continue to offer our clients the outstanding service quality they have come to expect from EV.”

The Queen’s Awards for Business Enterprise are given to UK businesses demonstrating outstanding achievement in the categories of innovation, international trade and sustainable developments. Winners receive an invitation from Her Majesty the Queen to a reception at Buckingham Palace.

EV, which splits its headquarters between Norwich and Aberdeen, has a team of around 90 employees. The company has 17 worldwide bases and has grown at a rapid pace in the last three years.
