MARINET, a network of research centres and organisations co-funded by the European Commission, has entered the last stages of Round Robin testing programme.

Round Robin is being performed at four different tidal test facilities, where the performance of an identical tidal energy model will be determined.

The model being used in the testing programme has been designed by Ifremer.

The facilities selected for the three blades horizontal-axis turbine testing programme are CNR-INSEAN in Rome, Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Edinburgh University and Ifremer (Boulogne sur mer).

The first three testing stages of the programme have been completed, and MARINET will soon start the final round of testing, which will be performed at the Edinburgh University.
