The Queensland Government and Redland City Council have agreed to jointly fund the replacement of the Coochiemudlo Island Jetty and the demolition of the old jetty for an estimated cost of $3.5 million together with channel dredging work at both Victoria Point and the new Coochiemudlo Island Jetty, to ensure service access in all tides.

The dredging work at Victoria Point will facilitate the Queensland Government’s planned construction of a new pontoon at the Victoria Point Jetty and help to further ensure all abilities and all weather access for services between Victoria Point and Coochiemudlo Island.

The dredging work commenced on 14 April 2014 and, weather permitting, will be completed by the end of May 2014, at which time the contactor is expected to move to the dredging of the Fison Channel and Toondah Harbour.

Redland City Council is supervising the contracted dredging work being undertaken with funding support from the State Government.
