Los Angeles District Prepares Large Dredging Scheme (USA)

According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, the dredging projects in the Port of Los Angeles (POLA) Main Channel & West Channel, and in the Los Angeles River Estuary (LARE), will be undertaken in the coming months.

Around 100,000 cubic yards of material will be removed from the POLA channels, and an approximate quantity of 700,000 cubic yards of material will be dredged from the LARE spot.

All material will be placed at the EPA approved ocean disposal site LA-2.

The estimated cost of the project is between $5 mln and $10 mln, and the solicitation will be available on or about May 16, 2014.
