Turkish Yalova shipyard hosted the launching ceremony of Palmali Group’s new tanker, named ‘Shovket Alekperova’ on April 30, 2014.
Palmali is a shipping company operating in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black seas.
The tanker, named after an Azerbaijani singer Shovket Alekperova at the initiative of Mubariz Mansimov, the head of the Palmali Group, is the seventh Palmali’s Armada tanker and pertains to the RST22M Project.
The sixth tanker of RST22M Project, named ‘Bakhtiar Vahabzade’, was delivered to the owner on the 15th of March 2013.
The Project RST22M product tankers, designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau based in Odessa, are successors of Project 005RST01, or “Armada” first series.
