The research has shown that renewable energy infrastructures have a positive impact on smaller species, giving them an opportunity to settle in previously uncolonized areas.
The infrastructures could also be used as colonizing platforms off the Scottish coast for some Northern Irish species, which typically would not have a chance to populate these areas.
Nevertheless, it’s important to monitor the effects these infrastructures might have on other species in the future.
