Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) supplies the complete diesel electric system including the QUEST® system to Fafnir Offshore’s next vessel.

NES recently got the contract for the hybrid battery diesel electric propulsion system for hull no. 126, a HD833 WE ICE platform supply vessel, with delivery in July 2015.

The vessel is owned by Fafnir Offshore HF, and is going to be built at Havyard Ship Technology’s yard in Leirvik in Sogn, Norway. Hull no. 126 is designed to operate as efficiently as possible in heavy sea. NES and Havyard started the cooperation in 2014 with the adjustments of the QUEST®-1 delivery for this vessel.

This is the second time NES supplies a diesel electric propulsion system for Fafnir Offshore, but this time the QUEST® (Quadro Energy Storage Technology) system is included. The first vessel was a HD832 L WE, which will be handed over third quarter of 2014.
