Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) Director Brian Salerno outlined his intent to establish a Houston-based BSEE Technology Center during a panel discussion at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

During the discussion with Department of Energy Acting Assistant Secretary Chris Smith, Director Salerno told attendees that a BSEE Technology Center would increase the bureau’s ability to asses new offshore technology and increase the technological capacity within BSEE.

Director Salerno also spent time on the exhibit floor discussing emerging offshore technologies with equipment designers and manufacturers.

Salerno also met with a group of representatives of the International Regulators Forum. Salerno discussed offshore issues of mutual concern and recent trends. The Offshore Technology Conference is held each year in Houston and runs from May 5-8.
