Thrustmaster of Texas, a manufacturer of commercial marine propulsion equipment based out of Houston, closed out this year’s OTC by placing ink to paper after signing a contract on the trade show floor with the Dutch Barge Company Thursday to supply a complete thruster package.

The deal concluded at a press conference inside the Reliant Center hosted by Thrustmaster’s president, Joe Bekker, and Dutch Barge Company’s Henk Kapitein.

Thrustmaster is staged to supply a complete thruster package to outfit a multi-purpose offshore supply vessel that will be classed by Bureau Veritas for dynamic positioning class two operations.

The vessel will utilize two 1,500 hp thrustmaster azimuth thrusters model TH1500N, two 1,000 hp Thrustmaster Retractable Azimuth Thrusters Model TH1000RN, and one 1000 hp thrustmaster carbon steel tunnel thruster model 66TT1000-CS.

For over 30 years Thrustmaster has been a leading provider of propulsion systems for use in the offshore, marine, inland waterways and military markets.

“We have a great opportunity to continue with our 30 year track record by providing quality commercial thrusters to the offshore and marine industry that is backed up with a global network of support and service – we couldn’t think of a better venue to finalize the deal with Dutch Barge Company than at the Offshore Technology Conference,” said Thrustmaster’s Marketing Manager Johnray Strickland .

2014 has been shaping up to be a busy year for Thrustmaster – in February the company expanded their product lineup to include water jets after acquiring the technology of DOEN Pacific. DOEN, a leading designer and manufacturer of water jet propulsion systems for the past 48 years, is one of five marine waterjet manufactures in the world building water jets up to 4,000 kW.
