According to Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, the major dredging campaign for the Coffs Harbour outer harbour is due to get underway in around two weeks.

Fraser said that the contractor, Dredging Solutions Pty Ltd, had consulted with Council, Jetty Dunecare, the Fishermen’s Co-op, the international marina and other stakeholders before starting work.

“ The contractor has begun to install pipes to pump the dredged sand from the outer harbour navigation channel to Park Beach, north of Coffs Creek – some 1.5km to the north.

“It is anticipated dredging will continue for approximately three months over the winter.”
