Inauguration ceremony of the Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo land reclamation project was held yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel (Rtd.) Mohamed Nazim, Minister of Tourism Mr. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor, newly elected Thulusdhoo constituency MP Mr. Mohamed Waheed, senior officials of the Government and Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, Kaafu atoll Council members and residents of Kaafu Thulusdhoo Island.
Under this project, a land area of 33 hectares will be reclaimed and 1650 meters of shoreline will be protected.
The duration of the project is 18 months.
