Zhong Hui Ming Electricity Ltd is going to deploy its first wave energy device off the coast of Fujian province by the end of this month.

Wu Mingmao, the developer of this 100-kilowatt generator, and general manager of Zhong Hui Ming Electricity Ltd believes his device will set a new standard in wave energy industry, reports the China Daily.

Mingmao started building this device in January 2013, and now he hopes that his efforts will pay off as he will be able to calculate the cost of electricity generated from waves.

“If the cost is higher than 1 yuan, the experiment will almost certainly have been a failure. However, if it is lower than 0.3 yuan, the company will be able to start producing the generator commercially,” said Mingmao .

Besides wave generator, this floating device comprises of wind turbines that provide extra energy to the mix.
