Chart Industries released a new compact liquefied natural gas (LNG) vehicle system . The length of the new vehicle fuel tank system is reduced by about 4.5 percent for the 2015 model year. This compact option is available in 26 inch diameter horizontal vehicle tanks – the industry standard size. In addition to a smaller external size with the same internal capacity, the price will be slightly lower, as well. “Chart is committed to incremental improvements, as LNG continues to be adopted by the heavy duty trucking industry, due to significant space, weight and fill speed advantages,” said Peter Murray, General Manager – LNG Vehicle Fueling Products. Chart’s LNG technologies enable the use of natural gas in place of diesel fuel for a wide range of applications within the transportation industry including heavy duty trucks, buses, off-road vehicles, marine and railroad applications.
