People in Wiltshire and Berkshire are invited to take a charity boat trip along the scenic Kennet and Avon Canal on Sunday, 25 May.

The trips will raise money for vital repairs to the waterway, which was damaged by the torrential weather earlier in the year. These trips, which are being run by the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust, will feature talks about the repairs needed.

Work to ensure the canal is open since being significantly damaged by flood water has included repairing banks that were washed away and reconstruction of embankments and towpaths.

Dredging also took place on the River Avon, to remove silt from behind lock gates.
