Danish citizens who might be affected by the new Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm and accompanying technical systems that will send the power into the grid, have the opportunity to make their opinions heard until July 29, 2014 .
On May 20, the Danish Nature Agency (Naturstyrelsen) and the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) published an environmental impact assessment (EIA) report and a proposal of local plans for public consultation in Danish municipalities of Vejen, Esbjerg and Varde.
The EIA report describes and evaluates how the Horns Rev 3 wind farm and its connection facilities would influence the environment. The proposal for the municipalities affected by grid connection installations provides a framework for local planning and guidelines on subsequent authorization and approval of the project.
In the 10-week consultation phase, Energinet.dk, the developer of the Horns Rev 3 project, will hold two public meetings, during which citizens, interest groups and other stakeholders can learn more about the plans.
Objections and other comments on the proposed plan and environmental report can be sent to the Danish Nature Agency until Tuesday, July 29.
The two agencies are expected to issue the EIA permit in the fall of 2014.
