Massive offshore platforms, which convert and transmit power from offshore wind farms, got a leading role in Siemens’ latest video called Giants of the North Sea .

HelWin alpha, BorWin beta and SylWin alpha transformer platforms are built at Nordic Yards’ facilities in Wismar and Warnemünde.

These structures are approximately high as a 10-story house, large as a soccer field, and weigh over 15,000 tons. A substructure of a platform is as complex as the platform itself, weighing around 10,000 tons.

Transport and installation of these yellow giants in the North Sea take several days.
