Kongsberg Maritime AS has been awarded a Project Specific Agreement including a FEED contract for delivery of Safety and Automation (SAS) systems to the four Johan Sverdrup field platforms by Statoil Petroleum AS.

The Project Specific Agreement also include an option for Safety and Automation equipment, the lifecycle simulator, detail engineering services and commissioning services.

“Kongsberg has installed similar systems on 10 Statoil production platforms today and we are pleased to be selected as the supplier for this important project,” comments Geir Håøy , President, Kongsberg Maritime. “This is a major contract for Kongsberg and further strengthens our position as a major supplier of our core automation and safety products to the offshore production market.”

Johan Sverdrup (previously Aldous/Avaldsnes) is one of the largest discoveries on the Norwegian shelf since the mid-1980s, and was one of the largest discoveries in the world in 2010/2011.
