Rowan Companies plc, a global provider of international and domestic contract drilling services in the ultra-deepwater and shallow water jack-up market, informed, through its fleet contract status update, that Rowan Renaissance is experiencing issues with its subsea systems.

The Rowan Renaissance ultra deepwater drillship began experiencing these problems on May 19, 2014.

The Company is working on repairing the mentioned issues and expects the drillship to resume operations by the beginning of June 2014.

The Rowan Renaissance is a UDW drillship of GustoMSC P10,000 design.

It is capable of drilling wells to depths of 40,000 feet in waters of up to 12,000 feet.
