The first of a total of 80 transition pieces (TP) at the Butendiek offshore wind farm has been installed. Transition pieces, manufactured by Bladt Industries in Esbjerg, Denmark, are being installed by the DP heavy-lift vessel Jumbo Javelin from Jumbo Shipping. Each TP weighs approximately 330 tons,
Transition pieces, manufactured by Bladt Industries in Esbjerg, Denmark, are being installed by the DP heavy-lift vessel Jumbo Javelin from Jumbo Shipping.
Each TP weighs approximately 330 tons, it measures 31m in height and has a diameter of 5.5m. To install such TPs safely, Jumbo has invested in increased lifting height capability by acquiring a 700 ton SWL Fly-Jib.
