A new vessel has been deployed at the Meerwind Süd/Ost offshore wind farm site.

Namely, Seewind 1 is carrying out crew transfers from and to the offshore wind farm’s substation near Helgoland, North Sea, Germany.

WindMW, a joint-venture between Blackstone Energy Partners and Windland Energieerzeugungs GmbH completed the construction of the wind farm and the installation of the 3,500-tonne offshore converter substation in April.

Construction of Meerwind began in 2012 and was completed on schedule within 18 months.
