Statoil has received approval to use the Songa Trym semi-submersible drilling rig to drill a well in the North Sea, offshore Norway.
Expected start-up is June 2014, with a duration of approximately 40 days. The well 35/11-A-31 is located in the Fram H-Nord field in development licence 090.
Water depth at the site is approximately 361 metres.
Songa Trym is a semi-submersible offshore drilling rig built in Norway at Aker Værdal, and completed in 1976.
The rig is owned by Songa Offshore ASA and operated by Songa Management. It received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in February 2013.
