Providing power for offshore operations on a transition piece in the construction phase is an essential service when working on the lifeless transition piece.
Recently GeoSea chartered the Guardian, Braveheart Shipping’s survey vessel, to provide power by cable to the transition piece in the Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm on which they were carrying out maintenance work.
Although this work is not usually performed by the Guardian, both the vessel and the crew performed with high professionalism to the satisfaction of GeoSea.
Borkum Riffgrund 1 wind farm is a DONG Energy project in the German sector. GEOSEA will install 77 foundations with scour protection here in 2014 and provide other operational services during the construction phase of the wind farm.
