XL Monopiles for Gode Wind 1 & 2 Taking Shape

EEW in Rostock, Germany, is currently working on the 940 tonnes XL monopiles that will be deployed at DONG Energy’s offshore wind farms Gode Wind 1 and 2.

The 66.5 meter long monopiles have a diameter of 7.5 meter and a total weight of 940 tonnes.

According to schedule, the monopiles will be rammed into the seabed during 2015.

The Gode Wind offshore wind farms have a total capacity of 582MW and will be able to supply CO2-free electricity corresponding to the annual consumption of approximately 600,000 German households.
