Offshore WIND’s photo of the day: Topside of the HelWin beta HVDC platform leaving the Netherlands on its way to its installation site in German part of the North Sea.

The topside commenced its voyage in early June, loaded onto the H-542 barge, operated by Heerema Marine Contractors, a sister division of Heerema Fabrication Group, which built the platform. Last week, the topside reached its final destination in the German North Sea.

The converter platform is one of the main components of the TenneT DC offshore grid connection ‘HelWin2′. The connection with a capacity of 690 MW will connect a large wind farm cluster in the German sector of the North Sea.
