Universal Acoustic & Emission Technologies recently supplied turbine exhaust systems to the Santos GLNG facility for the first of two LNG production trains.

“ Universal AET’s project manager worked with the customer and with Bechtel, the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the facility, to produce designs by Universal AET engineers for two custom turbine exhaust systems that meet Australian specifications ,” the company said in a statement.

These systems, which stand 30 meters tall, include acoustic silencers, ladders and platforms, support structures, ducting, expansion joints, rain stacks, personnel protection features and additional components. Universal AET also provided two standard design exhaust systems for the project.

The US$18.5 billion Santos GLNG project involves the development of gas fields in the Bowen and Surat Basins, the construction of a 420-kilometre underground gas transmission pipeline to Gladstone and a two-train LNG processing facility on Curtis Island in Gladstone.
