1. POSH MOGAMI Barge Sinks Offshore Batam
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) received a report that a Singapore-registered barge POSH MOGAMI sank 2 nautical miles northeast of Sekupang, Batam, on Friday (18 July) night.
2. SPT Offshore, VSF to Build Test Frame for ‘Pieter Schelte ’
For the testing of the lift systems for the giant and world’s largest decommissioning vessel ‘Pieter Schelte’ (measuring 382m long by 124m wide and suited for lifting of structures weighing up to 48,000 tons), Allseas has awarded the fabrication of a Test Frame to the project joint venture of SPT Offshore and Volker Staal en Funderingen (VSF). Both companies are part of the Volker Wessels group of companies.

4. Fugro Opens New Facility in Luanda, Angola
To accommodate the future needs of the rapidly growing Angola offshore oil and gas industry Fugro has opened its new facility in the SONILS Oil Service Centre in Luanda. Angola is now the second largest oil producer in Sub-Saharan Africa, after Nigeria.
