Siemens NL has contracted VSMC to design, supply and install infield cables between 48 wind turbine generators and 6 export cables to the onshore substation of the Westermeerwind Wind Farm.
The work for VSMC also includes 7 dike crossings (HDD), cable terminations and testing.
VSMC will start the HDD in August 2014, followed by cable installation in April 2015.
The wind farm will be built in the IJsselmeer (Lake IJssel), between Urk and Lemmer (the province of Friesland), the Netherlands.
Each of the 48 turbines has a capacity of 3MW.
