Osiris now has the capability to support East coast offshore renewables customers locally through a new shoreside support base in Grimsby.

The Port of Grimsby East was chosen due to significant investment made in the area in recent years and the growing presence of renewable energy companies as an attractive location to service their wind farms. The facility provides a local presence to be able to respond quickly to client’s needs through the rapid and efficient mobilisation/demobilisation of vessels and equipment including mass flow excavation systems, air and Nitrox diving spreads, ROV spreads, offshore accommodation modules; and other specialist containerised marine and subsea assets and equipment.

Osiris has taken immediate advantage by placing its Cougar ROV in situ for quick mobilisation, along with a support team on-site, for rapid deployment of assets when required. James Fisher Marine Services Ltd (JFMS), sister company of Osiris, have continued their commitment to growth with the launch of this base.

The option of the new shoreside support base boosts Osiris’ competitive edge. Aiden West, managing director of Osiris , commented: “To have our equipment and the space to set up a full diving spread shoreside is a huge step forward for Osiris. The ability to mobilise our assets close to offshore wind farm developments off the East coast means we can respond quickly and efficiently to our clients.”

The Grimsby base is part of the vision and expansion of the group and is strategically positioned to help services the core market of the offshore renewable industry. Located closely to owner/operators and major energy companies, the site offers a platform to provide a wide scope of projects and services offered by the James Fisher group.

“This latest expansion of our operational footprint enables us to increase both the range of services and the speed of response and service levels to our customers engaged in the development and operation offshore wind farms off the East coast of England” explained Jim Hey, managing director, JFMS.
