Phase 2 of the China Cove Beach Replenishment Project will start today and it will last until August 8, according to newportbeachca.gov.

The clean dredged sand material from Marina Park will be used for this replenishment program.

“To stay on schedule to complete the Marina Park project and accomplish desirable sand replenishment at one of our beaches, it is necessary to move the material the first week of August, ” said newportbeachca.gov.

Crews will install orange fencing around the area where they are working, but visitors are advised to beware of heavy equipment and to watch children closely.
