Zora gas field development project, located 33 kilometres from the UAE coast line, is progressing well, Dana Gas has said today in its quarterly report.

Drilling contracts imminent
In its operational update, Dana Gas says it plans to sign contracts imminently for drilling and well engineering operations, as well as onshore pipeline work, adding that the first gas production remains on track for 1H 2015 with an estimated output of 40 mmscfd (6,650 boepd).
According to the report, the project will contribute to Dana Gas’ overall strategy of diversifying and rebalancing its portfolio and moving into growth markets within its focus region of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA).
The field will be developed using a single offshore platform linked to onshore processing facilities. Once on stream, Zora will provide a valuable source of gas for local power generation in the northern UAE.
