Seabed Supporter, Swire Seabed’s third specialist subsea vessel, was named earlier this year in Baku, Azerbaijan and it’s Swire Seabed’s first operated vessel in this Country.

The vessel was constructed by the Norwegian shipyard Fjellstrand in Western Norway, and is operated by Swire Seabed, subsidiary of Singapore based Swire Pacific Offshore.

Construction of the ship started in March 2012, and the vessel was then transported in parts from Hardanger in Norway, through the River Volga, and down to the Caspian Sea, where she was completed in Baku.

Seabed Supporter is equipped with two state of the art ROVs that will be manned and maintained by Swire Seabed’s crew, an 80T crane, and a diving spread. She will be BP’s lead Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) vessel in the region for years to come.
