Norfolk Marine Ltd has opened a new Operations Base in the Port of Lowestoft, the new facility comprises an Office Complex adjacent to Storage and Workshop buildings with an open yard of 2500m2 and 96m of Quay Front.

The company’s vessels have operated from the Port for the past three years and as Lowestoft is fast becoming a hub for the Offshore Renewable Sector it was a natural progression for the company to establish a permanent base from which it can offer the full range of its services and products.

Both mobile and containerised diving systems will be based at the South Quays Facility along with the company’s inspection class ROV’s and full range of in house Underwater NDT equipment. This will allow the company to carry out comprehensive inspections of clients underwater assets, both inland and offshore.

It is envisaged that Lowestoft will become the Company’s Operations Head Quarters within the next two years for both European and Worldwide Contracts while the Irish Office will remain the company’s administrative hub.

Space will be offered to rent within the Office Complex and Norfolk Marine hopes to attract complimentary service providers to the Renewables sector. Quay space will also be made available to clients along with storage facilities for equipment etc allowing the mobilisation and demobilisation of contracts through the facility.

Seaview of the USA has already taken advantage of this service with their “Raptor ROV” system currently based at the yard and available for rapid mobilisation across Europe from Lowestoft.
