The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has expressed concerns about the national water situation and again advised all departments to be prepared for any emergency situations.

Today, Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, NCPO’s chief, attended the national administration meeting and expressed concerns on developments in water storage recently.

He ordered every sector to be prepared for any emergency situation and carefully monitor incremental changes in the water storage of every dam. The Chief directed the building of the Kaem Ling Project, and more dredging of canals for improved water flow.

Moreover, he has ordered the committee on water administration to rapidly carry out pending projects and develop new projects especially the creation of Kaem Ling Projects in appropriate areas.

The Ministry of the Interior and associated institutions have been assigned to drain five flooded provinces including Prachin Buri, Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen, Yasothon, and Mukdahan to relieve people’s plight.

As for the collapsed building in Pathum Thani, he asked every sector to provide help and to integrate efforts.
