U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has awarded $13.4 million contract to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company to perform maintenance dredging of the Tampa Harbor Egmont Channel Cuts and Mullet Key Channel.

The project work consists of maintenance dredging of Egmont Channel Cuts 1 and 2, Mullet Key Channel and installing geotextile tubes on Egmont Key in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Dredged material will be placed in the designated beach placement area on Egmont Key.

The work will also include beach tilling, turbidity monitoring, sea turtle trawl sweeping and relocation, and endangered species observers.
