The International Symposium on Sediment Dynamics: From the Summit to the Sea will take place on December 11-14, 2014, in New Orleans, USA.

This International Symposium is part of a series of events organized under auspices of The International Commission on Continental Erosion (ICCE), which is one of ten commissions of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).

The conference aims to provide an international forum for the dissemination and exchange of current art, science and technology on erosion, sediment transport, and interrelationships between them and the environment. This symposium will stimulate dissemination and promote interactions of interdisciplinary research on physical, biogeochemical, and socioeconomic solutions related to complex environmental systems.

The first symposium was held in 1981, a little over 30 years ago, in Florence, Italy. Recent conferences were held in Moscow, Russia in 2004, Dundee, United Kingdom in 2006, Christchurch, New Zealand in 2008, Warsaw, Poland in 2010, and Chengdu, China in 2012.
